Paksiw na Pata used to be our regular dish. Since I am becoming more conscious with the food that we eat, I seldom cook this viand and prepare fish recipe instead.
Here is my Paksiw na Pata recipe:
1 large pata around 1 kilo
1 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 head garlic, crushed
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup dried banana blossoms (bulaklak ng saging)
1 bay leaf, pepper
Clean pata thoroughly. Boil in vinegar, water and garlic. Lower heat and simmer until pata is tender. Add more water if needed. Put in soy sauce, sugar, dried banana blossoms and bay leaf. Serve Hot.
