Food Trip Friday #63: Macaroni Soup

We all want a comfort food on the table during cold or rainy season. It always gives us some warmth during this kind of weather. Typhoon Pedring was still pounding Manila that day while I was preparing this. I had some of the ingredients available in my bin and only bought a can of evaporated milk for this creamy soup.

2 tablespoons oil (or butter)
2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 chicken breast fillets (chopped)
1 medium sized carrots (chopped)
3 celery stalks (chopped) optional
1 small can evaporated milk
1 chicken bouillon cube
2 liters water
elbow macaroni
salt and pepper to taste
grated cheese (optional)
1/4 cabbage

In a big pot, heat oil or butter and toast garlic until golden. Sauté the chopped onion. Add chopped chicken and continue cooking until tender. Add the carrots. Stir up for a few minutes.
Add water or chicken stock or broth, milk, and chicken cube in the pot and let boil. Add pre-cooked macaroni. Add a salt, pepper, the toasted garlic and the finely chopped celery leaves (optional) to the soup and simmer for a few minutes. I put cabbage instead of celery. Serve in a bowl.
You can add grated cheese and celery leaves if you wish or just according to your taste.
BTW, I put some bits of hotdog  as  the all time favorite ingredients of my kids.

Post Birthday Celebration

I had such a burpy meal during the celebration of my friend’s birthday which was posted in my other blog. I spotted in the restaurant some celebrities wearing gold plated earrings while I just had a “less is best style” with a fashionable necklace for my short dress paired with tights. We had Chinese food and other classic menu for that heavy lunch. It was actually a post birthday celebration and the celebrant requested us to wear a dress or something that is fashionable one. It’s not necessary to wear an expensive dress but a comfortable one where we can move around freely. Fashionable outfit can be achieved when you accessorize it anyway. The photo is very important to us, as bloggers to document all the details happening, just like covering an event.

Anyways, we’re all observing a healthy diet. Although we had a calorie loaded cake, still the fish variants were our main dish that day.

Food Trip Friday # 62: at Resorts World Manila

I was supposed to post this entry last week for my Food Trip Friday but I haven’t gotten yet the name of the dishes served to us by the world class chefs of one of the finest restaurants in Resorts World Manila. I will update this entry as soon as I have the list in my hand. For now, here are the mouth watering cuisine that surely will delight your taste bud too.

Of the dishes above, did you notice the second photo, a crispy fried duck served in complete parts, including the head. It adds a bit in the presentation, it is just that I don’t eat the head part.

And here is the photo of the crispy fried duck  just right beside the glass  window of the restaurant.
