Food Trip Friday #56: Kalderetang Spare Ribs

Here is my entry for this week, Kalderetang Spare Ribs.

1 kg spare ribs (pork)
3 cloves garlic (finely minced)
2 to 3 tbsp butter
1 onion
1 can tomato sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 can Reno liver spread
1 red pepper
1 potato (optional)
1 carrot (optional)
fish sauce or salt to taste

Saute garlic and onion in a 3 tbsp of butter, add pork ribs and stir few minutes. Add soy sauce, stir and cover, simmer for 10 minutes in a low fire. Add tomato sauce and simmer again until the meat becomes tender.Β  Add potato and carrots (optional), Reno or liver spread and fish sauce or salt to taste. Add red pepper. I like my kaldereta extra hot, so I add 3 or more hot chilli peppers.

Best served with hot steamed rice.

@Pink Magaline, I don’t usually put potato in my kalderata, kasi parang nagiging bland ang lasa. πŸ™‚ unless requested by kids. πŸ™‚

I’ve been cooking caldereta wherein i used beef meat and the taste is good but when i tried this pork ribs caldereta the taste is great!!! My husband loves it and he requested me to cook again and share it with our churchmate. Thanks so much for posting your free recipe. God bless.. πŸ™‚
