Make your snack special with McCormick Bread Spread!

I usually prepare pasta with different gourmet sauces for our quick snack.  I always prepare toasted bread to go along with it. But this snack makes it all different with my new found bread spread with different flavors, McCormick Pesto,  Herb and Garlic.

With my spicy tomato pasta, our usual afternoon  snack  becomes special with garlic flavored toasted bread.  It’s easy to prepare.  Spread McCormick Bread Spread into bread and toast it according to your preference. That’s it and you’re good to go!

Perfect combination right? Pasta with toasted garlic bread.

FTF #101: Spicy Tomato and Cream

This is an easy recipe using Spicy Tomato & Cream from Del Monte. We always include at least five packs of different gourmet sauces in our grocery cart  for easy cooking, when we crave for pasta or when I couldn’t think of  any snack for my kids  after  school.

Prepare pasta, usually it takes only 12 to 15 minutes. Make sure it is ‘Al Dente’ or firm.

Sautee garlic, onion (optional, you can just reheat the sauce)   tuna chunks or flakes and Del Monte Spicy Tomato & Cream. Easy right?  Add olives. (optional) Serve with cheese  and you’re done. Yummy!

Alfredo Pasta Sauce

Three pasta posts  in a row. I guess pasta is the easiest recipe for us and now becomes a  trend to our cravings.   My daughters love pasta and wouldn’t? Only vegetarians would say no to pasta.

For recipe today, I’ll be sharing Alfredo Pasta which I think is the simplest using chicken meat. Preparation will take only 5 to 10  minutes.

Ingredients:

2 cups cream

1/4 cup butter

Parmesan cheese

salt and pepper

Parsley

chopped
Garlic (optional)

Bring the pasta to boil. It usually takes 11 to 14 minutes.  Drain. Set aside.

Heat a saucepan and put a little water before melting the butter to avoid the butter to stick to the pan. Saute garlic in a butter.  Put the chicken meat.  Add cream and simmer for 5 minutes.  Add garlic and cheese. Stir. Served with parsley and top with cheese.

It’s not always pasta every week. It’s just that we crave for it these days. Easy to crave just as easy to prepare.

Alfredo sauce recipes were known as “al burro” or “with butter” in Rome.
Butter and Parmesan cheese are blended with rich cream.

Tamato Basil Pene Pasta

I’m glad that preparing tomato based sauce isn’t hard for my children to take. They don’t like spaghetti with sweet style sauce and would request to cook even just tuna with a little tomato sauce. Just sprinkle a good cheese and it’s done for them.
I even tried tomato dice with basil and oregano and they liked it.

Here’s my simple recipe of my Tomato Basil Pene Pasta.

It’s so easy just like how I prepare other pasta.

Cook the pasta in a large bowl about 11 to 14 minutes. Drain.  Set aside.

Saute garlic, onion, tomato diced, basil, oregano flavor and mushroom. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.  Put  the pasta and sprinkle with cheese and its good to go! Simple right?

FTF #94: Pesto Pasta

My two daughters  always  include pasta in our groceries  and would always pick the ingredients  to go with our favorite  recipe.  I cook pasta, if not often, at least when we crave for  quick  snack and  for their after school merienda.

Here’s my easy recipe of Pesto Pasta.

Ingredients:

1 onion chopped

2 1/2 tablespoons pesto

2 tablespoons or butter

Grated Parmesan cheese

Mushroom

500 g of pasta

seasonings

Black pepper

In a bowl, cook pasta until  tender.  Follow the instructions at your selected brand. It usually takes 11 to 14 minutes. Make sure your pasta is Al dente. Firm but not hard.    Drain, set aside. Heat the butter and saute garlic, onion and mushroom. Add pesto, all purpose cream, seasonings, salt and pepper. Cook for about five minutes and it’s done. Mix the sauce with pasta and serve with Parmesan cheese.
